Fragment retention lamp specialist GlassGuard® has appointed Stephen Szmidt as its new Quality and Health & Safety Manager.
Stephen joins from Coty Manufacturing UK and brings with him 15 years of quality management experience in the manufacturing industry. He is a member of the Chartered Quality Institute and holds a Diploma in Quality and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Stephen said of his appointment: “This will be a challenging role. GlassGuard® is already a strong advocator of manufacturing standards. GlassGuard BlackBand® fragment retention lamps are manufactured to EN 61549, the recognised industry standard which incorporates requirements for fragment retention lamps.
“By constantly improving on this industry benchmark, GlassGuard® is clearly demonstrating its commitment to quality and continuous improvement. I am looking forward to bringing further leaner, quality and health and safety improvements which will benefit the company, our customers and our suppliers”.
Managing director Chris Payne says: “We are pleased to welcome Stephen to the team. He has already made a telling contribution to the company by overseeing GlassGuard®’s ISO9001 re-certification for a further three years with no non-conformances. Well done Stephen”.
