Marischal College is one of the oldest colleges in Britain, founded in 1593, and the largest grey granite building in the world. It epitomises Aberdeen’s history and respect for great architecture.
Marischal College now lends its name to a vibrant new leisure and business complex, Marishal Square.
This Aberdeen city centre development reflects the traditional styles of the College and the famous Provost Skene’s House, around which it is created. As well as 173,500 sq. ft.(16,119 sq m) of BREEAM Excellent, Grade A office accommodation over two buildings, the complex will house a 4-start Marriott, coffee shops, restaurants and a central vibrant public space.
Lighting Controls is extremely proud to have been selected to design, supply and commission the lighting control system for this complex. The system comprises DALI fitting throughout and will incorporate daylight linking throughout all areas of both buildings, in keeping with their A-rated energy certification. The whole network will be controlled by the Lighting Controls PC-based head end software.
