Mersen HH-Fuses in Medium-Voltage Switchgear Now Accredited by Siemens and Ormazabal

Medium-voltage switchgear is commonly installed in public and industrial power grids on the second distribution level.
This includes local grids and distribution/switching stations operated by utility companies or public utilities. These installations have to be particularly reliable and work permanently, also they need special protection. Therefore, choosing the right fuses for these applications is critical. Manufacturers of distribution transformers, switchgear and grid systems consequently do not permit the use of just any fuse. In the planning phase of the installations they have to make sure only those HH-fuses are used that fulfill all requirements and are approved. When in doubt, a suitable fuse has to be identified in cooperation with the fuse manufacturer.
Mersen HH-fuse links have now been approved also by Siemens for gas-insulated switchgear Type 8DJH in secondary distribution grids up to 24 kV and by Ormazabal for the use in transformer feeder panels Type ts within SF₆-isolated switchgear ga/gae.
The new Mersen HH-fuse links with patented thermal striker prevent an impermissible heating of the retaining chamber, since they already trigger the load disconnect switch in overload. The products don´t age and have an extremely low power loss, ensuring a trouble-free and economic operation.
