Megaman at the May Design Series

Megaman is excited to announce its sponsorship of this year's May Design Series ‘Designers with Light Forum 2014’. MEGAMAN® International Division’s Ciaran Kiely, will be starting the debate on Sunday 18th May, at 11am, with renowned industrial designer, Terence Woodgate.

Discussing the differences in approach between designing for yourself and designing for a company, Terence and Ciaran will talk about the importance of balancing design and technology and Terence will be showcasing his, Solidi range of pendants in solid marble and wood, built around MEGAMAN® PAR16 LED lamps. As well as opening the debate at the Designers with Light Forum 2014, MEGAMAN®, as Forum sponsors, will also be demonstrating its groundbreaking INGENIUM® Smart Lighting control solutions at the Specifier’s Pavilion.

MEGAMAN® has formed a number of design partnerships to promote the use of LED in decorative lighting solutions. As well as working with Terence Woodgate, MEGAMAN® has also partnered with Tom Dixon, Northern Lighting®, David Trubridge and 7Gods. Terence Woodgate - Renowned for his stripped down, elegant approach to design, with a meticulous attention to detail and manufacturing, Terence has incorporated MEGAMAN®’s dimmable 6W PAR16 GU10 into Solid. These innovative pendant luminaires (that are also available as surface-mounted downlights) are pure geometric forms that have excellent glare control and a unique support design, enabling the pendants to be locked in exact vertical alignment. Suitable for both residential and contract environments, Solid by Terence Woodgate looks set to bring the benefits of LED lighting performance and longevity to an even wider audience.

Northern Lighting® - Northern Lighting®’s new, sleek ‘Birdy’, is a classic Nordic design table lamp that uses MEGAMAN®’s new LED INGENIUM® Blu lamp technology. Combining modernist elements with the classic essence of its original 1952 design, the Birdy table lamp is powered by MEGAMAN®’s new INGENIUM® BLU, Bluetooth enabled, PAR16 LED lamp. Thanks to its integrated Bluetooth 4.0 technology, the INGENIUM® BLU PAR16 lamp can be wirelessly controlled and dimmed with the simple download of the MEGAMAN® app to most smart phones and tablet devices.

7Gods - Fresh from 7Gods, a British creative design agency that specialises in lighting and interior design, is the George pendant lamp. Made from maple veneer, the George lamp’s design has been inspired by chrysanthemums. It contains the MEGAMAN® INGENIUM® BLU classic LED Bluetooth enabled lamp and thanks to its integrated Bluetooth 4.0 technology, the MEGAMAN® INGENIUM® BLU lamp can be wirelessly controlled and dimmed with the simple download of the MEGAMAN® app to most smart phones and tablet devices.

Trubridge Grow Kitsets – Another recent design partnership for MEGAMAN® has been with New Zealand based lighting designer David Trubridge. His range of Grow Kitsets lamps, made from replenishable bamboo plywood, contain MEGAMAN®’s beautifully sleek Incanda-LED light technology.
