GlassGuard® Fragment Retention Lamps Now Available in Africa

Fragment Retention LampAs part of a continuing expansion programme, fragment retention lamp manufacturer GlassGuard® has extended its operations to Africa, with the appointment of a regional distributor.

E-Control, a trading division of JGP Group, has been appointed as an exclusive distributor of GlassGuard® fragment retention lamps to the African region.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, E-Control will be interacting with specifiers and end-users across the region to ensure GlassGuard® fragment retention lamps are identified in applications where lamps need to be protected.

Stewart Damonsing of GlassGuard® says: “We have been supplying to food manufacturing and packaging sites across Europe for over 20 years and have been working in partnership with BRC Global Standards since 2010 to promote industry compliant fragment retention lamps. We are now seeing an increasing interest in Africa. South Africa in particular is an emerging market for food and drink manufacturers, with growth in the market estimated at 3.2% for the next five years, according to figures published by law firm Linklaters.

“It is particularly important therefore, that food producers in Africa who are looking to export to the UK, are fully aware of their food safety obligations. Particular attention to making adequate protection of their lighting in order to minimise the risk of glass contamination, will pave the way for positive professional compliance.”

GlassGuard® fragment retention lamps provide a solution for all businesses and organisations wishing to eliminate glass contamination and personal injury from accidental lamp breakage. The range is designed to provide the highest level of protection for food manufacturing, cardboard, carton and plastic extrusion manufacturers aligned to the food industry.
