Legrand has underlined its intentions for Ireland by appointing Derek Gill as its new area project manager.
Derek is a qualified electrician, BICSI* Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) and has over 30-years industry experience. He has been tasked with working alongside consulting engineers to develop project specific Legrand system solutions, which he will then follow through to installation with the appointed electrical contractors.
Working across all of Legrand’s product ranges, Derek’s role will cover such diverse areas as busbar power solutions, commercial lighting management, home automation, and cable management systems.
Tony Greig, chief executive of Legrand in the UK and Ireland, said: “Ireland is a very important market to us and being in a position to bring in someone of Derek’s calibre and breadth of experience at a time when we are seeking to further establish ourselves amongst the country’s consulting engineers is absolutely vital.”
Derek had most recently been working as an appointed manufacturer’s representative for Legrand Group brands Cablofil and Ortronics in Ireland, the UK and Scandinavia – experience that he says will significantly help him in his new post:
“Coming into any new job is always a challenge, but in this instance I feel like I have a real head-start as a result of my excellent working knowledge of Legrand’s products and solutions and the relationships I already enjoy with a number of key potential clients.”
