Launch of the World’s Only Renewable Energy Loyalty Reward Programme

An exciting and ground-breaking new initiative is being introduced by the British Photovoltaic Association (BPVA) – the first ever loyalty reward programme for the Renewable Energy industry.
The primary aim of the National Energy Card is to support sustainable growth in the Renewable Energy sector, by giving consumers three key benefits: reassuringly accurate, up-to-date information; access to high quality and reliable renewable energy products and services; and meaningful rewards linked to their purchases.
The National Energy Card is free and will be made available to all consumers, rewarding them for their energy generation and their energy saving decisions. The many benefits include access to finance, insurance and extended warranties for various renewable energy installations including Solar PV. Card holders will also be able to get discounts on products and services from the National Energy Card Programme Partners.
Reza Shaybani, the Chairman of the BPVA and Chief Executive Officer of National Energy Card says, “Building a strong, loyal relationship between the industry and the consumer is vital to the future success of the Renewable Energy sector and the National Energy Card will allow the industry to foster this relationship. One of the most significant marketing revolutions of the past thirty years has been the development of loyalty management tools and techniques to derive greater value from every transaction and map consumer buying behavior. This means that the relationship with the customer no longer ends when the sale is complete.”
The National Energy Card enables the industry to engage directly with the consumer and it provides a direct channel to educate the public about the most attractive and cost-effective mechanisms for reducing their energy usage.
To explain the process in a nutshell: card owners earn e-points when purchasing solar PV and any energy efficient products and services from one of the partner companies. Card holders can also visit the online Energy Shop on the official website www.nationalenergycard.com, where they earn e-points with every purchase, and then redeem e-points on future energy efficient purchases. The National Energy Card is being piloted in the Solar PV sector initially, and then it will be rolled out to include other renewable technologies like ground source heat pumps, energy management, and green transport (EV) in the near future.
The UK National Energy Card is backed by a fund in the region of £100m, which will lend up to 100% of the cost of any Solar PV installation to any card holder with a very competitive interest rate of 6.5 to 8%. In time, the loan will be open to all renewable energy technologies, giving consumers access to finance their own home energy solutions.
Businesses are also eligible for a National Energy Card for a small annual cost of £10. Each £10 fee will be donated, in its entirety, to ‘Power Africa’; a project fund set up by the National Energy Card to invest in the development of Solar PV and other renewable energy projects in Africa. The aim is to raise £10 million in the first year and programme partners are also being invited to get involved with this worthwhile charitable project.
The National Energy Card offers its participating partners an invaluable marketing tool to access millions of engaged card-carrying customers and a mechanism to sell their products and services through the Online Energy Shop. The programme partners, comprising product manufacturers, distributors and installers, are carefully screened for their dedication to product quality, customer service, technical competency, and financial strength as well as sharing the core values of The National Energy Card in creating a greener future.
