ferguson modularCablofil has now supplied its steel wire tray cable management system to modular accommodation specialist, Ferguson Modular, helping the company to create compact and bijoux homes-from-home for offshore and remote workers around the world.

Ferguson modular routinely installs full electrical systems in spaces as small as 6m x 2.4m x 3m, often on business-critical tight deadlines.  The range of modules includes workspaces, accommodation units and catering units, often for use in hazardous working conditions and requiring a cable management system able to withstand both fire and excessive vibration to ensure that safety instrumentation systems remain operational at all times.

The internal fit out of every module begins with a steel framework that is fixed to the ceiling of the steel container and the Cablofil steel wire tray is fixed to this frame.  The ceiling void is typically just 400mm deep and has to contain all the electrical cabling plus the water pipes, compressed air lines and ducting for the air conditioning.

Comments Roger Buckingham, Electrical Engineer from Ferguson Modular: “We use a steel wire tray system because it is so much more versatile: it is quick and easy to cut and bend on site which means that we can adjust the path of the containment to suit our needs. It’s essential that we use a high quality, robust and durable product that we can be confident will enhance the safety of our units so we use Cablofil as it matches all these requirements.”
