Altadore Retirement Nursing Home, in Glenageary, Dublin, recently upgraded residents’ rooms with a new nurse call system, electrical outlets, light switches and phone points. The upgrade required the rooms to be re-wired, a major task given that existing electrical services were mounted into the bedroom walls and required moving due to the new bed positions.

Flexible conduit from Flexicon is protecting cabling from the River Thames in a historic building called the Anchor brewhouse, which is next to Tower Bridge.
C.J. Skilton Aquarist was approached to renovate a water feature in the Grade II listed building. As part of the refurbishment they needed to replace cabling in the plant room sited in the basement. At high tide this room is below water level, and on spring tides the plant room can partially flood.

Cablofil has won a new contract for two sites of a major waste recycling plant in the North West of England.
M&E contractor Farebrother will install more than 9,000 metres of Cablofil 316L stainless steel wire tray to support data and power cabling on the Waste 2 Resources LLP (W2R) waste treatment processing and recycling facilities at Thornton, near Blackpool and Leyland, near Preston in Lancashire.

Wales’ largest department store, John Lewis in Cardiff, has been equipped with FP200 Gold cable from Prysmian. The new shop, which opened in September 2009, has had more than 20,000 metres of Prysmian’s FP200 Gold cable installed in the fire alarm loops. FP200 Gold was also used in a network cabling capacity.

The Leeds Independent Living Project is a 25-year housing Private Finance Initiative (PFI) between Leeds City Council and the Leeds Independent Living Accommodation Company (LiLAC) that will see 73 houses, bungalows and small blocks of flats built on 40 sites across the city over a three year period.
