Vent-Axia Completes The Set With The High Performance Sentinel Kinetic F

Vent Axia Sentinel Kinetic FLeading British ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia has added the high performance Sentinel Kinetic F to its popular Lo-Carbon Sentinel Kinetic range of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) units.

This latest addition means that Vent-Axia now offers a full set of MVHR solutions to meet all applications from one-bedroom apartments to light commercial projects, such as student accommodation.

Manufactured in the UK the exceptional Sentinel Kinetic range from Vent-Axia now offers MVHR options with airflow from 15l/s to 200l/s. The Sentinel Kinetic F sits in the middle of this range and offers outstanding performance for its size. It features the latest high efficiency, backward curved impeller design which provides higher flow and pressure and ensures the lowest possible energy consumption. This all adds up to the Sentinel Kinetic F being the best product in its class.

The Sentinel Kinetic F combines supply and extract ventilation in one unit. Warm, moist air is extracted from ‘wet’ rooms through ducting and passed through the heat exchanger before being exhausted outside. Fresh incoming air is preheated via the integral heat exchanger, which recovers nearly 90% of the heat that would otherwise be wasted.

The integral humidity sensor increases speed in proportion to relative humidity levels, saving energy and reducing noise. The sensor also reacts to small but rapid increases in humidity, even if the normal trigger threshold is not reached. This unique feature ensures adequate ventilation, even for the smallest wet room. The night time relative humidity setback feature suppresses nuisance tripping as humidity gradually increases with falling temperature.

The Sentinel Kinetic F also improves indoor air quality, which recent research has identified as a major health risk. It reduces excessive moisture in the air, combating condensation and potential for mould growth. These are important issues since poor indoor air quality is linked to allergic reactions, asthma and heart disease. MVHR is cited as the most cost-effective solution for achieving an air exchange rate to help protect human health, whilst still satisfying energy efficiency requirements.

The lightweight Sentinel Kinetic F also offers ease of installation since it can be mounted vertically in a roof space or with a horizontal duct option for space-saving installations. Meanwhile, the combination of spigot options allows installation in confined locations. If vertical and horizontal connection is required on the same outlet/inlet, additional spigots can be supplied offering siting flexibility. Plus the positioning of the condensate drain is also versatile. The condensate drain can be taken out through the back, side or bottom of the unit. Using the fittings supplied, the final condensate connection is made outside the unit and can be completed after installation. In addition, an integrated digital controller offers simple and accurate commissioning.

Featuring multiple plug and play control options and BMS connectivity, the Sentinel Kinetic F has sensor inputs allowing boosting from a full range of Vent-Axia controllers including humidistats, Vent-Wise and timers, as well as a wireless remote. Switched live is available for boosting via light switches and benefits from a ‘delay on’ feature which prevents the unit boosting unnecessarily and a ‘delay off’ timer that ensures effective moisture removal. Alternatively manual boost switches are available. The unit’s BMS capability is ideal for those commercial applications where landlords or property managers want to monitor and optimise building performance and maintenance. The Kinetic BMS can provide status information and self-diagnosis for simplified fault finding.
