Stafford and Rural Homes Installs Solar Panels on 180 Homes

Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) is installing solar panels to 180 of its bungalows to help their customers reduce their energy bills.

The £750,000 project could save households over £120 on their electricity bills

“This project is part of our commitment to helping customers most at risk of fuel poverty to keep their properties warm at a reasonable cost,” said Karen Armitage, chief executive of SARH.

“The solar panels also help to provide a cleaner and greener environment for future generations by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”

SARH have funded his project whilst linking into the government feed in tariff to provide subsidies over the life of the installation.

The clean energy cash back scheme, which pays companies for creating their own ‘green electricity’, has been introduced to help reach the target of 15 per cent renewable energy generation in the UK by 2020.
