Smarta Technology creates “Homes Of The Future” at Severn Quay Development

Home automation specialists Smarta Technology have today successfully completed the installation of 24 futuristic smart homes at the Severn Quay development in Chepstow.

Smarta Technology were successfully awarded the contract by Wyndell Property Management following a detailed tendering process where the remit was to create a range of energy efficient smart homes suitable for the modern day family.

Using energy management technology, Smarta Technologies engineers successfully installed bespoke lighting, heating and smart security systems across a range of new build executive apartments and houses. To operate the technology, engineers installed specialist automation software called Control4 to enable homeowners to interact with various appliances around the home using touch screen control panels, smart phones and tablet devices.

Mark Wray Managing Director of Smarta Technology said “The Severn Quay development is the largest contract we have completed to date and demonstrates a clear vision of how home automation technology can be used to both improve the functionality of your home while also helping to save homeowners money in the process.”

“The smart home systems installed at Severn Quay enable homeowners to reduce energy consumption by up to 75% per annum using lighting and heating control measures. As the systems can be accessed remotely all lighting and heating can be switched off using a mobile phone device, providing a unique efficient way to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. “

The property portfolio at the Severn Quay development are amongst the first smart homes in Wales to offer such a substantial range of environmentally considerate features. Early interest in the development has inspired Wynndel Property Management to consider introducing basic home automation systems into all new properties at the development.

Peter Mills, Development Manager for Wynndel Property Management said, “The Severn Quay development demonstrates how a future proof home can be affordable for the modern day family. The engineers from Smarta Technology have installed easy to use home automation features which not only improves the home owners quality of life but can also reduce energy and heating consumption.”

Mr Mills believes during the current property market it’s important to remain innovative to appeal to buyers.

“Home automation has provided the Severn Quay development with a unique selling point within the competitive property industry. Homeowners have the option to add additional functions such as home cinema or multi room audio when required in the future, which provides customers with a new easy way to add value to their property.”

A licensed installer of Control4 home automation systems, Smarta Technology provides custom designed lighting, heating, multi room audiovisual and CCTV security systems for both private and commercial customers.
