Vacon, one of Europe’s largest suppliers of variable speed drives, has appointed Ralspeed, an acknowledged expert in drive applications and maintenance, as an Official Service Partner for Vacon products. In its new role, Ralspeed is offering a fast-response maintenance service for Vacon drives at customer sites using its fleet of well equipped “drives ambulances”.
For less urgent requirements, drives can also be sent for service and repair to Ralspeed’s headquarters in Blackburn, Lancashire, where the company holds large stocks of spares to ensure a fast turnaround. A comprehensive selection of drives for loan and hire is also held in stock.
“We’ve been a Vacon Sales Partner for many years,” said Peter Schaffel, Managing Director of Ralspeed, “so we know that the company’s drives are exceptionally reliable. Nevertheless, problems do still occur as a result of external influences such as adverse operating conditions and motor faults, so there is a definite need for support services.”
“We are, therefore, delighted that our recent move to larger premises, with new test facilities and workshops as well as a much larger stores area, has made it possible for us to take on the Service Partner role with complete confidence that we can consistently offer a service which matches the excellence of the Vacon products.”
Stephen Takhar, Managing Director of Vacon UK, said, “For us, Ralspeed is an excellent Service Partner, as the company has undoubted expertise in all aspects of drive technology and applications. In addition, it now has superb test and workshop facilities that enable it to handle service work efficiently and cost effectively. The fleet of “drives ambulances” is another big plus, and I’m sure that using Ralspeed for support will be an attractive option for many users of Vacon products.”
In addition to providing support services for Vacon drives, Ralspeed also offers a full design and build service for automation systems and control panels that incorporate drives. In particular, the company has wide experience in the use of variable speed drives to save energy, and it offers expert energy audits and assessments for organisations in the industrial, commercial and public sectors.
