Mott MacDonald has been appointed as a successful supplier on the recently awarded Buying Solutions Management Consultancy and Accounting Framework Agreement to deliver business management, organisation change and marketing communications advisory services to the UK public sector.
Mott MacDonald has been appointed to deliver business strategy consultancy to both central and local government, organisation and change management consultancy to the NHS and wider health sector, and marketing communications consultancy to all public sector bodies. Competition was fierce, with over 80 consultancy firms challenging for places on the framework agreement, which delivers value added consultancy services to the public sector.
Guy Leonard, Mott MacDonald’s head of business and management consultancy and group board director said, “This allows us to continue providing high quality consultancy services in the public sector, as we have been doing for the last eight years, under the previous Catalist and Department for Health frameworks. The public sector is faced with enormous challenges, to improve efficiency and make significant and sustainable cost cuts, while improving the quality and value of their service delivery. These wins will allow our consultants to demonstrate their skills and make a meaningful contribution to improved public services delivery and society as a whole.”
Kevin Thistlethwaite, a Mott MacDonald public sector and ICT specialist from the company’s bid team said, “We are delighted to get this opportunity to continue to support our public sector clients as they face ever greater challenges, to deliver high quality services against a background of reducing budgets. We aim to deliver advisory services that draw upon best practice and constructively support our clients to reach pragmatic solutions.
“An example of Mott MacDonald’s success can be found in the North West where we assisted six local authorities in improving the commissioning of Connexions Youth Services. Through greater understanding of the services, competitive procurement and new performance measures, Mott MacDonald facilitated over £2 million of savings per annum on the previous grant funded arrangements.”
Mott MacDonald’s advisory teams deliver skills, resources, leadership and momentum focussed on specific challenges where it is uneconomical for clients to have the breadth and depth of skills in house.
Alan Leaman, Chief Executive of the MCA (Management Consultants Association*) said: “Results like this are common in management consultancy and demonstrate the very real value consultants add to the UK public sector.”
