Professional tools are called for when enclosures and their climate control need to be correctly dimensioned. Rittal's Therm software performs complex calculations of climate control requirements. Now, Version 6.0 of Rittal Therm is available and it is making an impact with its advanced user interface and new assessment tools.
Nowadays, for energy efficiency reasons, oversized enclosure cooling units are no longer acceptable. However, undersizing very soon leads to the electronic features installed being quickly burned out. What is called for is an ideally sized cooling technology. The complex calculations required to achive this can be performed rapidly and exactly with Rittal's "Therm" thermal management calculation software. The latest version (6.0) is now even easier to employ, and other useful new tools are available.
A new layout in Vista style and an improved user interface by tabs and simple drop-down menus comfortably leads the user to the most suitable cooling unit. Users can choose between express and expert mode options.
New features such as a pressure loss program for the calculation of pipeline calculation and a humidity calculation program are also helpful. In addition, climate control solutions can be calculated for outdoor enclosures that take solar radiation into account, while fan-and-filter units can be dimensioned that take height above sea level into consideration. Optionally, all the results can be exported as HTML or XML documents.
The open, easily expandable heat loss database in Explorer style is also new. Power and control electronics components from reputable manufacturers and their heat losses have already been integrated in it.
Finally, the software provides further information on the maintenance and operation of climate control components and climate engineering services
