New Appliance Transaction Module Connects Computer Systems with Multi-Vendor, Multi-Type PLCs without Programming.
New cATM High-Performance appliance transaction modules from Online Development make it easier to connect various types and brands of PLCs to plant or business computer systems. When used in conjunction with an eATM enterprise appliance transaction module installed in a Rockwell Automation Logix controller, the new cATM appliance enable connectivity without programming to the following installed PLCs: Allen-Bradley PLCs: CompactLogix, SLC 500, PLC-5, MicroLogix and FlexLogix.
It also communicates with other PLCs including Siemens S7 and Schneider Modicon Quantum. It is compatible with the following Allen-Bradley data bridges: EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DH485 and DH+. Data bridge support is Ethernet TCP/IP for Siemens and Ethernet Modbus/TCP for Schneider Modicon.
The cATM appliance features a browser-driven setup utility that automatically recognizes all controller tags or registers. An interface within the utility enables dragging and dropping tag or register data from one controller screen to another. The utility also validates tag/register transactions between controllers.
The cATM High-Performance appliance has been developed in response to industry’s growing need for a simple and cost-effective way to connect factory floor controllers with other controllers. They are used to migrate installed controllers to new controller technologies, support the development of plant floor workflow applications, as well as MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) initiatives.
