David Ross Sports Villagecpn lighting control have recently completed the bespoke lighting control system for the brand new David Ross Sports Village at the University of Nottingham. The £40 million centre is now open, offering an inspirational and accessible sports provision for students, staff and members of the public.

The sports village has been supported by a significant commitment from Nottingham alumnus and Carphone Warehouse founder – David Ross, taking his total support for the University beyond £10 million.

The indoor facilities include: sports hall (4 large standard halls / 20 badminton courts), 25m swimming pool, 12m climbing wall, 6 standard squash courts, all-glass squash court, martial arts dojo, table tennis / archery / fencing sale, snooker and pool room and The Clubhouse Café.

The sports centre also has fitness facilities including a 200-station fitness suite, a spin studio and two dance studios. Outdoor there are various facilities such as: full-sized 3G rubber crumb, full-sized sand dressed pitch, outdoor viewing area, 3 netball courts and 3 tennis courts. The sports injury clinic contains a hydrotherapy pool, private consulting rooms and specialist physiotherapy and sports massage services. As well as this, the sports centre holds a high performance zone, which includes a 60m-sprint track, bespoke training area and specialist strength & conditioning services.

Facilities throughout the centre benefit from the flexibility of a fully addressable lighting control system providing a combination of presence, absence, daylight and scene setting control. The main sports hall uses our bespoke iPad software offering the user up to 20 lighting scenes per court covering a range of different sports via a user friendly interface.
