Megger's CableCalc+ Gets Even Better!

CableCalc appMegger has released an updated and even more versatile version of its award-winning free CableCalc+ app for smartphones and tablets, which allows contractors to choose cables and calculate voltage drops quickly and easily for electrical installations up to 25 kW.

The new version of CableCalc+ is available for Android and iOS devices. It retains all of the functionality that has made its predecessor so popular and adds a maximum ZS feature, as well as an option for instantly showing the 5 second and 40 millisecond trip times for circuit breakers and fuses.

Not only is the new version of CableCalc+ totally free to download and use, once it is installed on a device it is fully functional even when no Internet connection is available. This is an important benefit when working on remote sites or inside steel-framed buildings where mobile data reception is not possible.

CableCalc+ covers all commonly used types of cable, including SWA 2-, 3- and 4-core XLPE; SWA 2-, 3- and 4-core PVC; twin and earth; fireproof and tri-rated. It also allows the user to choose between the four most commonly used reference methods – B, C, 101 and 102. Data entry is fast and straightforward, and the app instantly shows the minimum recommended cable size, the calculated voltage drop in volts and as percentage, and the load current.

Additional features of Megger CableCalc+ include fast access to concise information about Megger’s extensive and popular range of test instruments for electrical contractors. When an Internet connection is available, links provide access to more detailed information on each product, which is captured from the Megger website.

The new version of Megger’s CableCalc+ app for use with Apple devices can now be downloaded from the Apple App Store and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The Android version is available from the Google Play Store.
