Crompton Lamps Provide Light For Sunbridgewells

Sunbridge WellsEnergy efficient lighting experts Crompton Lamps has supplied its LED Antique Bronze Filament lamps to the new Sunbridgewells retail and leisure complex at Millergate, in Bradford’s historic trading quarter.

Created utilising a series of old tunnels under the City, Sunbridgewells has become Bradford’s own Victorian quarter incorporating contemporary shop units along with vibrant restaurants and bars. The tunnels have an interesting history which includes being used by a brewery back in the 1900’s, an air raid shelter for WWII and a nightclub back in the 60’s.   The refurbishment of the tunnels has been carried out in keeping with the history of Bradford and will link the area from the New City Park to the Arndale Mall.

Lighting was specified by electrical wholesaler Newey & Eyre, Bradford who advised and worked closely with the electrical installers on-site.  Crompton’s LED Antique Bronze Filament lamps were the perfect choice for the installation as they offered a traditional filament incandescent look that incorporates all the benefits of the latest LED technology.  The range includes an 80mm Globe (G80) 5W lamp with an equivalent brightness to that of a 35W incandescent lamp, and an ST64 7.5W lamp providing a 50W incandescent equivalent.

The lamps have a colour rendering of Ra≥80, a colour temperature of 2200K (extra warm white) and 10,000 - 15,000 hours life.  Both lamps are available in BC-B22d or ES-E27 caps and include DuoDim™ Technology which is compatible with both leading and trailing edge dimmers. Figures for this installation have shown that by choosing LED lamps for this installation instead of conventional lamps, an amazing annual saving of over £2,000 and 14,301KW has been achieved.

Crompton’s 5W Antique Bronze Globe lamps were chosen for the front entrance and in the Wallers Brewery Bar along with a 7.5W ST64 lamp in corridors, stairwell and through the Wallers Brewery and Alibi Bar.  The lamps are perfect for any installation where a strong visual impact is required, whilst offering the opportunity to add character to any decorative installation.  The LED lamp technology offers excellent energy efficiency and long life of 10,000 - 15,000 hours compared to 1,000 hours of conventional alternatives.   Dimming options are also available to create different moods and atmospheres whilst further increasing energy savings.
