King's Cross Facility Chooses Lighting Controls

kings cross r7Comprising 155,000 sq ft of prime office space over 10 floors, Building R7 is located at one of London’s key transport hubs: King’s Cross.

Already pre-let to New Look and XTX Markets, this mixed-use building also comprises retail space and public amenities.

Architects, Duggan Morris designed this as a highly flexible building that can accommodate smaller growing companies, or larger entities that require one or more complete floors. Lighting Controls, as the designer, supplier and commissioning agent for the lighting control systems, is well equipped to deal with this degree of flexibility with modules capable of accommodated smaller spaces and systems that are almost infinitely extendable.

The particular challenge with building R7 was to provide a fully flexible and addressable control system, using pluggable Lighting Control Modules, to control both lighting and integral Chilled Beam heating and ventilation systems. Lighting Controls Ltd. was chosen at the early design stages as the solution to this challenge and was in consultation with architects and contractors during the whole design/engineering process.
