New Polypipe Ventilation Products Create Impact At Ecobuild

Polypipe Stand at EcobuildPolypipe Ventilation exhibited its widest ever range of energy efficient ventilation products for the domestic and light commercial markets at this year’s Ecobuild to great acclaim.

New products making their Ecobuild debut were Silavent Sapphire intermittent extract fans and Decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (dMEV) units plus two new additions to the company’s Domus range of ducting systems in the form of 90° bends and a plenum with integral flow control device.  The fans, in particular, received excellent visitor feedback due to their very quiet operation - down to 12dB(A) for dMEV and 32dB(A) for intermittent extract fans – and their contemporary design, including interchangeable fascias in a choice of white, silver and brushed chrome effect.  This unique design element was viewed by developers and specifiers as an effective, cost effective means of adding to a property’s overall aesthetic appeal.

For heating and ventilation installers visiting the show, the latest additions to the Domus ducting system range were singled out as especially useful.  The new patent pending Green Line high efficiency 204x60mm and 220x90mm 90° bends, which provide a 60% reduction in resistance to air flow, were a major talking point as they significantly lower the duct system’s total resistance and therefore overall appliance energy usage.  The new patent pending flow control plenum – also for use with Polypipe’s Domus 204x60mm Supertube rigid duct system – was also very popular as it allows for connection to a range of stylish architectural grilles (taking away the requirement for traditional air valves) and enables commissioning to be carried out during installation, for maximum convenience.

Polypipe’s Domus Radial MVHR and MEV systems also remained of key interest for their quick and simple installation.  New additions include an outlet plenum with optional twin connection for increased air flow, an optional integral flow control device to enable the inlet/outlet plenum to be connected directly to a stylish grille and a 250mm long FireBrake fire-stopping sleeve to prevent the spread of flames through openings in walls and ceilings made for the ducting.  New bespoke Radial duct insulation, to prevent the formation of condensation when the duct runs from the warm to cold areas of a property, was also launched.

A key feature for Polypipe Ventilation at this year’s Ecobuild has been a focus on improving indoor air quality through whole house ventilation solutions which supply filtered, fresh incoming air.  Polypipe’s award winning Silavent Green Line HRX and HRX2 Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) range provides an effective solution for such applications.  These units have gained in popularity not only for their energy saving benefits but also for their ability to help provide clean and healthy indoor air, whilst filtering out air bourn contaminants.  MPs have recently warned that air pollution in the UK is causing a deadly “public health crisis”, responsible for almost as many deaths as smoking.  This was a much discussed topic, raised by visitors to the Polypipe stand time and time again, indicating that this subject matter is firmly on the news agenda.

Polypipe Ventilation has a well deserved reputation for designing and manufacturing high quality ventilation systems, backed up by excellent technical support.  Polypipe Ventilation is well placed to offer immediate, practical solutions to Building Regulations Parts F & L.  The company continues to provide differentiated solutions in the private and social housing sectors, transforming the way developers, specifiers, installers, home owners and distributors meet emerging environmental standards.  The company’s full product range and details of sales and technical support are all detailed in their new Product Selector catalogue, which was launched at Ecobuild.
