LED Hut Quadruples Warehouse Capacity in Manchester Move

LED Hut warehouseIn line with rapid company growth and to meet soaring demand for its market-leading LED lighting range, LED Hut has relocated its operations to Middleton (Greater Manchester).

The move has seen the company quadruple its warehouse capacity – allowing for increased stock, quicker deliveries and even more competitive prices for customers.

LED Hut quickly outgrew its 6,000 sqft warehouse in Winchester after just 18 months, where the company experienced a five-fold increase in sales. The new 26,000 sqft premises now comfortably houses almost 800 palettes of stock (approx. 3.5m LEDs) and a team of twenty-one, with even further room for growth.

Comments Laura Dugdale, LED Hut trade marketing manager: “This move has been a vital part of our continued growth strategy. Not only does the Manchester location make us better placed to effectively service customers UK-wide, we’re now able to hold far larger volumes of stock. This means we can handle bigger commercial orders with ease and enhance our delivery turnaround time. In fact, thanks to our new set up, we can provide a guaranteed next day delivery before 3pm anywhere in the UK. The increased capacity also means we make fewer shipments, so we’ve been able to reduce our transport carbon footprint in the process, whilst ensuring continued competitive pricing.”

LED Hut’s relocation has already resulted in sixteen new jobs in the local area, including warehouse staff and roles spanning marketing, design and sales. Adds Laura: “In just three years, LED Hut has secured the dominant share of the UK online LED market and this is down to top quality products, competitive tiered pricing and most importantly, industry expertise. We continue to focus on providing the ultimate online resource for LED lighting and expect to double our stock intake and staff hires over the next 12 months.”

LED Hut’s expansion strategy is also replicated internationally, with successful operations already underway in France, Germany and Australia. There are plans to expand this further in 2014, targeting new markets across Europe and beyond.
