GlassGuard® Shows Its Support For Movember

GlassGuard Movember TeamThetford-based fragment retention lamp manufacturer GlassGuard® has shown its support for Movember by sponsoring a local group of runners.

Seven local runners, the Thetford parkrunners, have cultivated their facial hair for the month of November as part of the national Movember challenge run by the Movember Foundation. The culmination of their effort was displayed at the final Thetford parkrun for November.

parkrun is a non-commercial organisation which organises weekly, 5km timed runs at 235 locations across 8 countries. Their aim is to drive involvement and improve the  health of participants.

“We are really grateful for GlassGuard®’s generous support” said Robert Waple of the Thetford parkrunners. “The guys of the Thetford parkrun have turned the 5K dash into a 5K tash for the month of Movember. As the ladies do Race for Life, this was an opportunity for us guys to do the same and raise awareness and funds for male cancer research and change the face of men's health”.

Glynn Pearce of GlassGuard® who is a member of the Thetford parkrunners added: “Having lost two male relatives to cancer, I have a personal reason for seeing this challenge through”.

So far, the Thetford parkrunners have raised over £700 for Movember.
