New Omega LED Offers Adjustable Mounting Options and 50% Energy Savings

The new Omega LED luminaire from Thorn Lighting can be adapted to provide flexible mounting options including recessed, surface and suspended using a simple mounting kit.

As well as through-life flexibility, it uses 50% less energy compared to a 4x18W T26 fluorescent equivalent, allowing a short payback time and substantial energy savings.

When replacing 25 traditional fluorescent Omega 2 luminaires (4x14W T16) in an office application, the equivalent number of Omega LED fittings will achieve 40% energy savings and payback period of 2.8 years. Alternatively, 30 Omega LED fittings would increase the light level to 540 lux while still reducing energy consumption by 29% and achieving a payback period of 5.4 years.

With an IP44 rating, Omega LED extends beyond the traditional applications of circulation areas, general illumination and offices to restrooms and hospitals. Omega LED is an extension to Thorn’s existing Omega 2 T5 and T8 recessed modular range. It offers an easy retrofit solution for traditional luminaires of the same size.

Omega LED offers high efficacy (81 Llm/W), a choice of colour temperatures (3000 and 4000K) and a CRI > 80. The long lifetime of 50,000 hours (@L70, Ta 25°C), significantly reduces maintenance demands and costs.
