Vent-Axia to Represent UK in Europe’s Most Competitive Business Awards

EBA National ChampionSussex-based Vent-Axia, a leader in low-carbon ventilation, is delighted to announce that it will be representing the UK as a National Champion in the prestigious European Business Awards 2013/14.

Vent-Axia beat off stiff competition to be selected as a National Champion and will now compete for Ruban d’Honneur status in ‘The Infosys Business of the Year Award with a turnover of €26-150m’ category in the next round of the competition. Final category winners will be unveiled in April 2014.

The European Business Awards has identified some of Europe’s brightest businesses based on their ability to demonstrate the three core principles at the heart of the Awards programme. The esteemed panel of judges were looking for organisations to represent the UK who exhibited the highest levels of innovation, business excellence and sustainability.

Key to Vent-Axia’s award entry was the company bucking the current economic trend by doubling its manufacturing capacity of unitary domestic fans at its UK Crawley site.  The company has invested in British Manufacturing, the local economy and community with the launch of two new production assembly lines creating new site jobs. The new facilities also allow Vent-Axia to be flexible and responsive, easily making on-going design enhancements to products to meet customers’ needs, enabling the firm to continue its commitment to high quality, innovation and excellence.

Ronnie George “At Vent-Axia we’re absolutely delighted to be selected to represent the UK. As a leading British Manufacturer we are proud to pave the way through our innovation and design. We’ve been operating for over 75 years in the ventilation sector and it’s an honour to be recognised as one of the leading organisations in our country and in our field. The European Business Awards is widely acknowledged as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies. We’re looking forward to the next round of the competition,” said Ronnie George, CEO.

The European Business Awards is dedicated to raising the visibility and progress of companies who excel in delivering innovation twinned with successful commercial results whilst acting responsibly and positively affecting the social environment they operate in. Last year’s competition saw entries from organisations with a combined turnover greater than €1 trillion Euros across the 28 EU countries plus emerging nations (8.23% of EU GDP including Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and Kazakhstan). Together these businesses employ over 2.7 million people across the continent.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards says, “Over the past seven years we’ve received an incredibly high standard of entries from organisations that are passionate about their business. However, very few get the chance to fly the flag for their country and compete across Europe to be recognised as one of Europe’s finest. It really is an exceptional accolade to be picked as a National Champion and together with our sponsors and supporters we’re looking forward to seeing the UK in the next round.”

Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM adds, “Vent-Axia and the other National Champions have yet again raised the bar for dynamic, inspiring and quality businesses across Europe. We wish them every success for the next stage of the competition, which this year includes an exciting two-phase video voting round.”

To advance in the competition this year, all National Champions have to submit a video entry for viewing and assessment by a judging panel. In addition, the public will also be able to vote online for their favourite National Champion from each country, these companies become ‘National Public Champions’ and one will go on to be ‘European Public Champion’. Voting begins in November 2013.
