Cooper Bussmann is ‘Spot On’ with Acquisition

Cooper Bussmann, has strengthened its industrial IEC fuse link and fusegear business following the acquisition of GE Industrial Systems’ British Standard fuse-link product portfolio.

The acquisition now means that familiar brands such as Red Spot fuse holders and Safeclip will join Cooper Bussmann’s already comprehensive range of overcurrent circuit protection products for IEC markets.

Commenting on the deal, Enzo Strappazzon, Cooper Bussmann Vice President and General Manager of Global IEC Electrical products, said, “The purchase of GE’s BS fuse link line will strengthen our overall overcurrent circuit protection portfolio globally, especially in India, one of the fastest growing economies in the world, where we will become the leading player in overcurrent protection.”

The company plans to ramp up production at both its Burton on the Wolds site in the UK and its Pondicherry facility in India in the coming months.

Enzo Strappazzon added, “We will be looking to invest in all the product lines. We want to enhance the reputation of products like Red Spot fuseholders, which have been an industry fixture for many years.

For our customers, the addition of industrial fuseholders to our existing range of IEC fuses simplifies inventory management and provides a one stop shop for contractors.”
