 BS EN 50540:2010 Conductors for overhead lines. Aluminium conductors steel supported (ACSS)
Overhead lines are the backbone of electrical distribution systems. If you manufacture or specify cabling for this kind of application, you should be aware of a new standard.
BS EN 50540 is a European Standard which specifies the electrical and mechanical characteristics of ACSS conductors made of round or formed annealed aluminium wires and steel wires stranded in alternate directions.
