LIA Laboratories Announce Memorandum of Understanding with The HEA

LIA LAB TestThe LIA Laboratories Ltd, the UK’s largest leading independent laboratory dedicated to testing lighting products, is delighted to announce an extended MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the HEA (Highway Electrical Association).  

The MoU between the two organisations will allow HEA members to benefit from a UKAS accredited testing, verification and certification service, with the added benefit that HEA members can be assured that any products verified through this scheme will be totally compliant with regards to safety, performance and longevity.   Along with the LIA Laboratories accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025, this is a further endorsement of the laboratories competence to provide accurate, unbiased data and conformance with the latest legislation.    Gareth Pritchard, Chief Executive of The HEA commented “The working arrangement between the HEA and the LIA Labs is evidence of the UK lighting and highway electrical industry working together for the benefit of both customers and the UK supply chain.  In particular, this arrangement will be of interest and benefit to SME’s which is good news for the UK plc”.

The LIA Laboratories are a wholly owned subsidiary of Lighting Industry Association (the LIA) and has over 20 years experience in the testing of lighting products and the largest scope of UKAS accreditations for testing lighting and supporting products in the UK. The LIA Laboratories is also the UK Government appointed Notified Body under the Low Voltage Directive.
